Lee Seung-gi and Younha are set to appear as original artists on the hit show “Hidden Singer 8.”
JTBC’s “Hidden Singer 8” production team announced on the 10th that Lee Seung-gi and Younha, two artists frequently requested by viewers, will join the lineup following Shim Soo-bong and Ha Hyun-woo.
Marking his 22nd year in the industry, Lee Seung-gi has worn many hats as a singer, actor, and TV personality. However, he’s ready to showcase his true passion on the “Hidden Singer 8” stage, stating, “I’m happiest when I’m singing.” In a teaser, Lee confidently quipped, “This season will be the most entertaining yet – because I’m in it,” ramping up audience anticipation.

Younha, known for her “celestial vocals,” also made waves by encouraging impersonators to audition for the show. She revealed key aspects of her singing style, including her signature emotional build-up followed by a sudden drop, and her effortless transitions between falsetto and chest voice. However, she joked, “If the impersonators sound too much like me, I might get eliminated early. It’s anyone’s game,” highlighting the show’s unpredictable nature.
The production team expressed excitement about Lee Seung-gi and Younha’s participation, stating, “Viewers will witness the evolution of Lee Seung-gi from a high school sensation to a multi-generational ‘ballad prince,’ and experience Younha’s unique timbre and nuanced expressions that have captivated audiences for years.” They also noted that impersonators are preparing more rigorously than ever to match these seasoned performers, further heightening anticipation for the upcoming episodes.
“Hidden Singer 8” is slated to air in the first half of this year.
