Variety’s Seoul correspondent reports that “Quiet, Following,” which made waves in early 2024 with its sold-out premiere run, has triumphantly returned to Seoul’s theater district after a 15-month hiatus, continuing its box office dominance.
Since its 2026 revival, “Quiet, Following” has consistently sold out major performances, cementing its place as a must-see production in Seoul’s vibrant theater scene. The show’s undiminished popularity proves that the “Following Syndrome” is alive and well, rekindling the fervor of its initial run. The revival has struck a chord with both returning fans and newcomers alike. Tickets for key performances vanished within minutes of going on sale, a testament to the play’s enduring appeal. With consistently packed houses and remaining shows on the brink of selling out, “Quiet, Following” shows no signs of slowing down. This production boasts a powerhouse ensemble, featuring many original cast members alongside fresh talent, creating an even more compelling theatrical experience. The lead role of Quiet sees a triple casting with original stars Oh Kyung-joo and Kwon Do-kyun joined by newcomer Woo Ji-hyun, each bringing a unique interpretation to the character. Kwon Seul-ah and Jeong Dan-bi alternate as Saebom, while Lim Jin-gu and Choi Gi-wook share the role of Hyung, anchoring the narrative with their performances.
The supporting cast injects tension and energy into the production with their distinctive portrayals. Kim Hak-jun and Kang Eun-bin as Kal, Kim Gi-tae and Kim Gi-joo as Freshman, Lim Mo-yoon and Ji Min-jae as Black-throated Sparrow, Yoo Nak-won and Choi I-re as Boss, and Park Sang-jun as Sub-boss seamlessly blend seasoned and fresh talent, elevating the overall quality of the performance. Content Hub, the production company, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming audience response: “We’re deeply thankful for the enthusiastic support, despite the 15-month break. Our collaboration with D.O.T. Theater Company aims to deliver an even more profound experience than the original run, with our cast and crew giving their all.” “Quiet, Following” has become a top pick for theater enthusiasts, praised for its innovative direction and intense performances. Now playing in the heart of Seoul’s theater district, the production continues to forge a deeper connection with audiences, with sold-out shows expected to persist.
