Singer Kim Eui-young has topped the list of female trot singers that fans would most like to hit the slopes with before the snow melts.
Ten Asia conducted a poll from February 2-8 asking readers, “Which female trot singer would you want to go skiing with before the season ends?”
Kim Eui-young claimed the top spot. An alumna of Daejeon Arts High School, she went on to study traditional arts at Chung-Ang University. Her trot career took off after placing fifth on TV Chosun’s “Miss Trot 2,” where she solidified her fan base. During the show, producer Jo Young-soo praised Kim’s versatility, suggesting she could excel beyond trot. Since then, she’s been a regular on various TV shows, including “Immortal Songs.”
Kim Da-hyun secured second place. On February 4, news broke that she’s taking legal action against her former agency for unpaid fees. Her team stated that despite repeated requests since last November, payments for gigs from fall 2023 remain outstanding. They’ve reluctantly pursued legal channels to protect the young star’s interests.
Jeon Yu-jin rounded out the top three. She’s set to lend her voice to the OST of “Love Prescription,” alongside other trot heavyweights. The drama follows two families overcoming a 30-year feud. Nyam Nyam Entertainment boasts that the star-studded lineup, featuring winners from various trot competitions, will energize the show’s soundtrack.
Ten Asia is currently running Valentine’s Day-themed polls on its website, asking readers which singers – both in general and trot specifically – they’d like to give chocolates to this February 14th.
