In a shocking turn of events, the highly anticipated musical “Life of Pi,” starring Park Jung-min, was abruptly canceled just five minutes before curtain call.
My Daily reported on the 10th that the licensed production of “Life of Pi,” scheduled for that afternoon, was unexpectedly called off moments before it was set to begin.
The performance was slated to start at 7:30 PM, but at 7:25 PM, just as the audience was settling in, they were informed of the cancellation. Sources close to the production cited technical difficulties as the reason for the last-minute decision.
“Life of Pi” brings Yann Martel’s best-selling novel to life on stage. The book, which has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, tells the extraordinary story of Pi, a young boy stranded in the Pacific Ocean for 227 days with an unlikely companion – a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.
The production features a star-studded cast, with Park Jung-min and Park Kang-hyun alternating in the lead role of Pi. They are joined by a talented ensemble including Seo Hyun-cheol, Hwang Man-ik, Joo Ah, Song In-seong, Jin Sang-hyun, Jung Ho-jun, Lim Min-young, and Kim Ji-hye. Theater-goers in Seoul can catch the show at the GS Art Center until March 2, while Busan audiences can experience the spectacle at Dream Theater from March 7 to March 15.
