Hanam City officials announced on February 10 that Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, made an unexpected visit to the Wirye Seongnam Golf Course site. Trump was in South Korea to attend the World Crypto Forum (WCF) 2026.
During the visit, Mayor Lee Hyun-jae provided Eric Trump with a comprehensive briefing on the Seongnam Golf Course site conditions and its future development potential.

Sources report that Eric Trump expressed keen interest in Hanam’s prime location and appeared highly impressed with the site.
On February 11, he is scheduled to personally inspect the site conditions for the hotel project within the K-Culture Complex (K-Star World), a flagship initiative of Hanam City.
The Seongnam Golf Course site was designated as a military protection zone after the South Korean Ministry of National Defense acquired ownership from the U.S. military in 2021.
City officials are reportedly in ongoing discussions with the Ministry of National Defense regarding future plans for the Seongnam Golf Course site.
