The ‘365 Annual Overseas Travel Insurance’ is a yearly plan that allows policyholders to enjoy coverage for unlimited overseas trips throughout the year with just one subscription.
Designed for frequent travelers, such as those on business trips or short-term stays abroad, this product now extends its protection to include cancellation fees.
The new Cancellation Fee Compensation clause safeguards travelers against unforeseen circumstances like accidents or illnesses that might force them to cancel their plans.
It reimburses up to 80% of cancellation fees for pre-booked transportation, accommodation, and experience vouchers, with a maximum coverage limit of 1 million KRW (approximately 750 USD).
With this addition, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance aims to provide comprehensive protection not just for risks during travel, but also for financial setbacks that may occur while planning a trip.
In a move to stay ahead of the curve, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance introduced the industry’s first delay index-based coverage for domestic flights last January. They’ve continued to boost their travel insurance offerings, including reducing the compensation wait time for flight delays from four hours to two hours in September.
A spokesperson for Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance stated, “This new clause is part of our commitment to offering practical support throughout the entire travel journey. We’re dedicated to continually enhancing our product competitiveness by expanding coverage and improving services based on our customers’ evolving needs.”
