Instructors from Kenya\u2019s leading maritime institutions\u2014Mombasa Technical College, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Bandari Maritime Academy, Pioneer International University, and Mount Kenya University\u2014participated.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Framed around an understanding of International Maritime Organization (IMO) conventions, the program offered theory courses reflecting current maritime education and industry trends, including maritime industry digitalization and decarbonization; prospects for maritime education in Korea and globally; eco-friendly engine technologies; advanced safety training; and shipping industry developments.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>During the training period, participants toured the institute\u2019s training ship, the Korea Maritime and Ocean University center, Busan New Port, Techcross, Hyundai Motor Company, the Autonomous Ship Demonstration Center, and other major shipbuilding and shipping firms.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Kim Min-jong, director of the Korea Maritime and Fisheries Training Institute, said, \u201cThis training offered a meaningful opportunity to directly share Korea\u2019s advanced maritime education system and industry practices with Kenya.
