If you\u2019ve ever been wowed by Vietnam\u2019s Ba Na Hills, you\u2019ll want to add this new spot in Geochang, Gyeongsangnam-do to your travel list. Nestled on the slopes of the Baekdudaegan range in Goje-myeon, Geochang Forest Leisure Park sits more than 750 m (about 2,460 ft) above sea level and blends peaceful forest escapes with active leisure. Its signature attractions are a treetop walkway and a dramatic, hand-shaped observation deck called the Light Hand.<\/p>\n

The project cost roughly 45.7 billion KRW (about $34.28 million USD) and covers approximately 32 hectares (around 79 acres). On-site you’ll find forest leisure facilities, lodging, an auto-camping area, a caf\u00e9 and small shops. After being selected by the Korea Tourism Organization in 2026 as a promising small-scale tourist destination, the park is quickly becoming one of Korea\u2019s must-see forest getaways.<\/p>\n

Geochang Forest Leisure Park is located at 2099-35 Bbaejae-ro, Goje-myeon, Geochang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. The setting is special: it stretches across the Baekdudaegan spine and sits near the northern edge of Gyeongsangnam-do, so it\u2019s pleasant to visit throughout the year. The park is designed for both relaxation and hands-on outdoor fun.<\/p>\n

Beyond lodging options like the Forest Rest House and Forest Cottages, you\u2019ll find treetop walkways, the Light Hand observation deck, a zip coaster, climbing challenges and a rope-adventure course. With activities for every age and energy level, Geochang is a destination that rewards more than a quick day trip. We recommend an overnight \u201cforest-cation\u201d (1 night, 2 days) so you can truly soak in the fresh mountain air and scenery.<\/p>\n

The park\u2019s most striking feature is the hand-shaped platform known as the Light Hand. The massive sculpture looks as if a giant hand is lifting the forest and sky\u2014an effect that naturally draws comparisons to the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills in Da Nang.<\/p>\n

The treetop walkway measures about 133 m (around 436 ft) in total, with an average height of 10 m (about 33 ft). At the end, you\u2019ll reach the Light Hand observation deck, which rises roughly 18 m (about 59 ft) and covers about 10 m\u00b2 (around 108 sq ft). From the deck you can gaze south over the Goje-myeon reservoir and north toward Deogyusan and the Baekdudaegan ridge. It\u2019s one of those photo spots where one great shot can make you ask, \u201cIs this really in Korea?\u201d<\/p>\n

The park\u2019s appeal goes well beyond the lookout. The Tree Top offers a calm canopy stroll while the zip coaster zips you between the trees. Current admission prices are: Tree Top, 1 ride 2,000 KRW (about $1.50 USD); Zip Coaster, 1 ride 15,000 KRW (about $11.25 USD); Climbing experience, 1 session 5,000 KRW (about $3.75 USD). Note that operations and fees can change depending on weather and on-site conditions, so check ahead before you go.<\/p>\n

Lodging options let you extend your escape. Forest Rest House rooms are designed for four people and can accommodate up to five; Forest Cottages are for four and can hold up to six. The auto-camping area is split into deck and river-rock zones for varied camping styles. Spend your day exploring the woods, snap photos at the observation deck, then unwind at your lodging\u2014perfect for families, friends or couples.<\/p>\n

The Tree Top observation deck is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Note that the treetop walkway and other leisure facilities close during rain. Because the Tree Top uses stairs, visitors who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility may find access difficult.<\/p>\n

For a fuller day trip, pair this stop with nearby attractions like Geochang Suseungdae and Gamaksan\u2019s Byeolbaram Hill.
