Twenty of the world\u2019s top 25 are not entered. The highest-ranked player in the field is No. 7 Charley Hull (England), followed by No. 15 Hye-Jin Choi. Of the 28 rookies on tour, only five aren\u2019t playing this week. Unfortunately for the Korean contingent, rookie leader Yumin Hwang is one of them\u2014she\u2019s sat out two straight events, including the Kroger Queen City Championship. <\/p>\n<p> Hwang grabbed the rookie lead after a T5 at the season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, and hasn\u2019t surrendered it since. But while she rests and recharges, a dangerous challenger has emerged: Japan\u2019s long hitter Erika Hara. <\/p>\n<p> Hwang leads with 291 points to Hara\u2019s 277, a narrow 14-point margin. Hara has three top-10s\u2014two more than Hwang\u2019s single top-10\u2014but those finishes were one T10 and two T9s, so they weren\u2019t particularly high finishes. <\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-union.tenbizt.com\/contents\/crawler-dev\/image\/2026\/05\/CP-2023-0094\/image-eef78b3b-8f21-4118-ba13-e72d259964e3.jpeg\" alt=\"\uc2e0\uc778\" \ub7ad\ud0b9 1\uc704\uc5d0 \uc62c\ub77c \uc788\ub294 \ud669\uc720\ubbfc. \uc0ac\uc9c4 \uc81c\uacf5=\"AFP\uc5f0\ud569\ub274\uc2a4\" class=\"img_LSize\"> Still, Hara has a strong chance to take over the rookie lead this week. If she finishes inside the top 35 at the ShopRite LPGA\u2014played May 29 at the Seaview Hotel &amp; Golf Club Bay Course in Galloway, N.J. (par 71)\u2014she would pass Hwang, since 36th place awards 14 rookie points. Hara comes in on an upswing with finishes of T9, T9 and T16 in her last three starts. <\/p>\n<p> Rookie No. 3 is Melanie Green (USA) with 156 points, followed by Mimi Rose (England) in fourth with 134 points. Both are entered in the ShopRite. <\/p>\n<p> Hwang plans to mount her counterattack next week at the U.S. Women\u2019s Open.
