Netflix’s animated series K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedeheon) scored a major music industry milestone when its original song “Golden” won Song of the Year at the American Music Awards.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The AMA named “Golden,” performed by Korean-American singer EJAE alongside Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami, Song of the Year at the ceremony held May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The track beat out nine other nominees, including frontrunner Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” to take the trophy.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Accepting the award, EJAE said, “This song and the film drew great strength from our fans,” and thanked both the fans and the K-pop Demon Hunters team.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, in March, Kedeheon won Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It also earned two Golden Globe wins in January \u2014 for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song \u2014 and in February became the first K-pop work ever nominated at the Grammys in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The series centers on HUNTRIX, a girl-group of demon hunters, who clash with Saja Boys, a demon boy band that preys on human souls.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
