He told family members about the abuse for the first time roughly three years ago, but said he was paid money in exchange for his silence.<\/p>\n<p>He said he went public after his mother sued him this year in a dispute over family assets. Following his allegations, Boon Rawd Brewery \u2014 the Bhirombhakdi family&#8217;s flagship company and the maker of Singha Beer, widely regarded as Thailand&#8217;s national beer \u2014 removed Sunit from all corporate positions.<\/p>\n<p>Sunit, once viewed as a likely successor at Boon Rawd, resigned and acknowledged that the brothers had engaged in \\&#8221;rough play,\\&#8221; but he denied the sexual-abuse allegations.<\/p>\n<p>The brothers are fourth-generation descendants, born to a mother who is the founder&#8217;s granddaughter and to a Scottish father. Besides Singha Beer, the Bhirombhakdi family operates businesses in food, hospitality, power and real estate.
