BTS won the American Music Awards’ top honor, Artist of the Year.<\/p>\n
They beat several of pop music\u2019s biggest names to take the prize.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s their second time winning the award; they first won in 2021, becoming the first K-pop act to do so.<\/p>\n

BTS was named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, one of the major award shows in U.S. popular music.<\/p>\n
They prevailed over global stars including Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga to claim the ceremony\u2019s highest accolade.<\/p>\n
This is their second overall AMA win\u2014after the global hit \u201cButter\u201d earned them the honor in 2021\u2014and it represents another milestone for K-pop\u2019s presence on the international stage.<\/p>\n
RM \/ BTS: ARMY, we did it again! We\u2019re honored to receive this precious award now that we\u2019ve all completed our military service.<\/p>\n
J-Hope \/ BTS: Thank you for loving the album ‘Arirang’ and all our songs.<\/p>\n
The award came just over two months after the group reunited for a full-group comeback in March\u2014their first full-group return in three years and nine months.<\/p>\n
BTS left the ceremony with three trophies, including Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for \u201cSwim,\u201d the title track from their fifth studio album, Arirang.<\/p>\n
\u201cGolden,\u201d the original song from Netflix\u2019s animated series K-Pop Demon Hunters, continued its winning run.<\/p>\n
It captured every major category it was nominated in, beginning with Song of the Year and including Best Pop Song and Best Vocal Performance.<\/p>\n
HYBE\u2019s Korea\u2013U.S. joint girl group Cats Eye took home three trophies\u2014confirming their global reach\u2014including New Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for their hit \u201cNalli.\u201d<\/p>\n
