On May 17, Yonhap News Agency reported the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office said emergency crews responded to a blaze at a generator located outside the plant\u2019s internal security perimeter in the Al Dhafra area following the drone strike.<\/p>\n
The office said there have been no reported injuries and that radiation safety levels were unaffected. The UAE Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) said the plant\u2019s core systems remain fully operational.<\/p>\n
UAE authorities did not identify a suspect or group responsible for the drone strike.<\/p>\n
South Korea\u2019s Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) exported its APR1400 reactor design to Abu Dhabi and built Barakah, the Middle East\u2019s first commercial nuclear power plant.
