That impasse prompted the union to seek mediation.<\/p>\n<p>Observers inside and outside the IT sector say the union&#8217;s demands were influenced in part by SK Hynix\u2019s decision to allocate 10% of operating profit to performance bonuses.<\/p>\n<p>If mediation at the labor commission fails, the union may move to formal dispute procedures. A strike is not automatic; any decision to strike will depend on the mediation outcome and the union\u2019s internal procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The Kakao union previously sought mediation with the labor
