The line then remained inactive for several years.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"374\" data-start=\"275\">The development of the Dambit district has attracted new residents, and demand for travel toward Gwangju\u2019s Cheomdan area has steadily grown. Residents pressed for the route\u2019s return, and after discussions with the carrier the county agreed to reinstate service.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"510\" data-start=\"376\">Although designated as an intercity express, the route was planned to stop at major local hubs to better serve residents\u2019 everyday needs.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"510\" data-start=\"376\">The service will depart Damyang Terminal, call at the Dambit district and the communities of Soubuk and Daejeon-myeon, then continue to Gwangju\u2019s Cheomdan area (near Sejong Bookstore) and the U-Square Terminal. It will operate four round trips daily.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"621\" data-start=\"512\">Officials say the restored line should sharply cut travel time to the Cheomdan district\u2014trips that once took nearly two hours by local buses are expected to be roughly an hour shorter\u2014easing commutes and school runs.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"721\" data-is-last-node=\"data-is-only-node=\" data-start=\"623\">Acting Damyang County Mayor Lee Jeong-guk said, \u201cWe expect residents\u2019 access to Gwangju to improve significantly,\u201d and added that the county will continue pursuing
