(The CEN News) Reporter Yang Hyung-ju: Jeon Somi will reveal details of I.O.I.’s reunion and the process behind preparing their new single on ‘Radio Star.’<\/p>\n
MBC will air ‘Radio Star’ on April 29 as a special titled ‘We’re Back Together!’ The episode features Lee Jong-hyuk, Yoo Seon, Jeon Somi and Lee Dae-hwi.<\/p>\n
On the episode, Jeon Somi discusses the ongoing reunion project celebrating I.O.I.’s 10th anniversary and teases the group’s new single, due May 19. She says the members still use a group chat, which she calls \\”our promise,\\” underscoring their enduring friendship. She also shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the reunion\u2014the mood during preparations and the role Chungha reportedly played in spearheading the effort.<\/p>\n

Jeon Somi says they’ve completed the album jacket shoot and finished recording, and are now waiting to \\”unseal\\” the comeback\u2014heightening anticipation. She trains four to six hours a day and admits she noticed a gap in stamina when performing again with the group after their long hiatus.<\/p>\n
She also revisits moments from her Produce 101 days and her time with I.O.I. One anecdote: during a monthly dorm meeting she nodded off, only to be jolted awake by a comment from Kim Se-jeong\u2014an incident she says illustrates the group’s close camaraderie.<\/p>\n
Jeon Somi says she collects quirky items, remembering that when she first moved out on her own she bought some 60\u201370 towels, and she showed off various souvenirs she picked up overseas. She also recounts behind-the-scenes stories about appearing as a reenactment actor on the show ‘Surprise’ to promote the new single, and how that led to her playing a character nicknamed the \\”Parrot Girl.\\”<\/p>\n
