\n <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\nKakao Games announced April 27 that it is opening applications for its 2026 assistive-device program, Play Together Buddy, which is designed to improve gaming accessibility for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n
Applications are open through May 22 for people with physical or brain-related disabilities, and the company plans to select 35 recipients. Previously focused on the Seoul metropolitan area, the program has been expanded nationwide to help more people enjoy gaming despite physical or environmental barriers.<\/p>\n
After an initial document screening confirms eligibility, applicants will receive consultations and assessments from assistive-technology specialists, including evaluations of how effectively the devices support gaming, before final selections are made. Application forms and related documents are available on the Gyeonggi Rehabilitation Engineering Service Research Support Center (the Center) and The Beautiful Foundation websites.<\/p>\n
The assistive devices provided through the program include: \u25b2special keyboards (one-handed, macro, enlarged keyboards) \u25b2special mice (head, eye-tracking, one-handed mice, QuadStick) \u25b2game controllers and specialized input devices (arcade sticks; Proteus and G-Pad controllers; audio radar, etc.) \u25b2switches and accessories (handle-type joysticks, button-style arcade sticks, one-handed controllers, etc.) \u25b2posture-support equipment (height-adjustable desks, wheelchair desks, etc.) \u25b2console-compatible devices (Flex, Microsoft\/Xbox controllers, Sony Access, etc.). If additional modifications are needed, experts from the National Rehabilitation Center\u2019s Assistive Device Open Platform can provide support.<\/p>\n
