<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n[EPN Enpinau reporter Goh Nari] Eva, a broadcaster from the U.K., has obtained a South Korean passport after 20 years living in the country.<\/p>\n
On the 23rd, Eva posted a passport photo she took herself on her social account, calling it “the best birthday present.”<\/p>\n
She said the photo was taken at the Namyangju passport office and shared an image of herself smiling broadly while holding a blue South Korean passport for the ID verification shot.<\/p>\n
Marking her 45th birthday, she said, “I finally received a Korean passport,” and added, “I want to live as a South Korean for the next 45 years and another ten years. I’m grateful.” She also stated, “My goal is to live to 100.”<\/p>\n
Online, messages of congratulations followed. Netizens commented, “She’s now fully a South Korean citizen,” “I still have a green passport\u2014congrats to Eva for getting the blue one,” and “Congratulations on both your birthday and your passport.”<\/p>\n
Eva first came to public attention in Korea in 2006 when she appeared as an English instructor on SBS’s Super Junior’s Full House. From 2006 through 2010, she represented the U.K. on KBS2’s Global Talk Show, attracting notice for her fluent Korean.<\/p>\n
In 2010 she married a Korean man and became the mother of two. She recently announced on the Pabi Yangban channel that she had passed the final naturalization exam and described applying for her resident ID and passport. In the video, she recalled the emotion of the naturalization ceremony and said, “It’s been 20 years since I came to Korea; I feel like I’ve come of age,” expressing anticipation for a new start.<\/p>\n
