\"Oh\" Oh Se-hoon, confirmed as the People Power Party’s candidate for Seoul mayor, appointed Rep. Park Su-min and former Rep. Yoon Hee-suk\u2014his primary rivals\u2014as joint campaign chairs on the 19th. <\/p>\n

After meeting Rep. Park and former Rep. Yoon for lunch at a Jongno restaurant that provides meals to residents of single-room dwellings, Oh told reporters, “Both rivals agreed willingly to serve as joint campaign chairs and will work hard with me through the remainder of the campaign.” He added, “The innovation campaign committee intends to expand toward the center,” and said he is planning a broad unity campaign that brings together citizens from all walks of life\u2014young and middle-aged alike\u2014and encourages public participation. <\/p>\n

Asked whether Jang Dong-hyuk would take part in campaigning, Oh said, “Once the nomination process concludes, leadership roles will naturally diminish and messaging will focus on the candidate.” <\/p>\n

Responding to Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-o’s proposal for a policy debate, Oh said, “Policy debate is the norm,” and stressed, “We must do everything we can to ensure voters use this local election to provide a meaningful check on the current administration’s arrogance and authoritarian tendencies.” <\/p>\n

That day Oh visited the Gwanaksan branch of the Seoul Hiking Tourism Center, toured the facility, inspected trail safety and reviewed his “activate hiking tourism” policy. The Seoul Hiking Tourism Center, opened three years ago, lends hiking gear, stores luggage, provides changing rooms and runs experience programs at a low price of 500\u20131,000 KRW (about $0.38\u2013$0.75), helping foreign visitors enjoy the mountains comfortably. <\/p>\n

On Facebook, Oh wrote, “Tourism is the most powerful and immediate growth engine for our economy. Hiking can be the starting point of ‘3\u00b73\u00b77\u00b77’\u201430 million tourists, per-person spending of 3,000,000 KRW (about $2,250), seven-day stays and a 70% revisit rate\u2014and I will complete ‘Seoul Tour-nomics,’ turning Seoul’s everyday life into global enjoyment and sustained economic vitality.” <\/p>\n
