Na Hong-jin&#8217;s latest feature earned a slot in the competition lineup.<\/p>\n<p> Films in the competition will vie for top honors including the Palme d&#8217;Or, the Grand Prix (Jury Prize), the Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. With this selection, Hope becomes the first South Korean film in the main competition since Park Chan-wook&#8217;s Decision to Leave in 2022.<\/p>\n<p> Hope is set on the outskirts of the isolated, fictional port town of Hopo, near the Demilitarized Zone. After residents report sightings of an unidentified entity, a small group sets out to uncover what it is \u2014 only to find their investigation threatens to leave the town in ruins. Na Hong-jin, director of The Chaser and The Wailing, directed the film. The international ensemble includes Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung and Jung Ho-yeon, alongside Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, Taylor Russell and Cameron Britton.<\/p>\n<p> The production reportedly cost about 52 billion KRW (approximately 39 million USD).
