[Photo=Anyang City]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>[iNews24 Reporter Lee Sang-wan] Anyang City in Gyeonggi Province won the Excellence Award in the 2026 Gyeonggi Province Self-Audit Activity Evaluation for the fourth year in a row.<\/p>\n<p>On April 1, the city said it has won the Excellence Award each year from 2023 through 2026, reinforcing its reputation as a city of integrity.<\/p>\n<p>Gyeonggi Province evaluated the self-audit activities of 31 cities and counties across the province during February and March, reviewing overall self-audit performance for 2025. Anyang received high marks across key evaluation categories, including preventive auditing, strengthening internal self-audit practices, and efforts to improve audit activities.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the city actively involved citizen auditors from diverse fields in its internal audits to promote citizen-centered, transparent audit administration, and it established an \u201cAudit Rights and Interests Protection Officer\u201d system to enhance the effectiveness of its self-audit efforts.<\/p>\n<p>It also identified unreasonable or unnecessary procedures and pursued follow-up measures\u2014corrective actions, formal requests for improvement, and recommendations\u2014to ensure those changes were implemented, earning praise for strengthening audit effectiveness and administrative accountability.<\/p>\n<p>A city official said, \u201cWe will continue to strengthen administrative transparency and public trust through preventive audits and institutional reforms.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the city also received the highest grade last year for the third consecutive year in the self-audit activity review conducted by the Board of Audit and Inspection,
