The Seasons \u2014 Sung Si-kyung’s Earphone Boyfriend \/ Photo: KBS2 capture<\/font><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] KBS2\u2019s music talk show The Seasons \u2014 Sung Si-kyung’s Earphone Boyfriend opened its run with a knockout lineup.<\/p>\n
The premiere, which aired on the 27th, assembled veteran artists expected to delight music fans: Lee So-ra, YB, Kim Jo-han, Jung Seung-hwan and Kwon Jin-ah, among others.<\/p>\n
Sung Si-kyung kicked off the episode in a sleek all-white suit with an opening performance of \u201cEvery Moment of You.\u201d He confessed it had been a while since he\u2019d been on TV and said he felt excited, nervous, happy and grateful. He added that he wanted to do well, then cracked a joke about serving as the show\u2019s \u201cgomaek\u201d MC \u2014 introducing weekly \u201cgomaek boyfriends\u201d and \u201cgomaek girlfriends\u201d \u2014 drawing laughs from the audience.<\/p>\n
The first guest segment featured a duet by Kim Jo-han and Jung Seung-hwan of \u201cI Want to Fall in Love.\u201d Kim, who remembers Sung\u2019s debut, surprised the crowd by saying he once heard a relative was going to become a singer. Sung laughed and described their distant family tie, explaining Kim is married into an extended branch of his family. Kim also noted he sang on the chorus of Sung\u2019s debut single \u201cThe Road to You,\u201d underscoring a long-standing connection.<\/p>\n
Balladeer Jung Seung-hwan delivered an impromptu live rendition of Sung\u2019s \u201cOne More Goodbye.\u201d Sung praised him, saying, \u201cYou can hear the breath and the emotion clearly \u2014 this is what a ballad should be.\u201d Jung returned the compliment, calling Sung a perfect textbook for the craft. Their rapport continued when Jung recalled playing a song for Sung at his house and being floored when Sung changed the chords behind him \u2014 a moment that made Jung\u2019s heart race and prompted laughter in the studio.<\/p>\n
The show introduced a new segment, \u201cTwo People,\u201d and its first guest was original \u201cgomaek girlfriend\u201d Lee So-ra, a surprise that thrilled the audience. Lee and Sung performed a duet of \u201cBlue Inside You,\u201d receiving enthusiastic applause. Lee said she appeared to support her longtime junior Sung on his first time hosting after roughly six years since they last shared a stage.<\/p>\n
Sung was effusive in his admiration for Lee throughout the night. \u201cHer songs are so precious,\u201d he said. \u201cLee So-ra has a unique artistic power \u2014 I don\u2019t understand why she stays at home. I hope we get to see her more often.\u201d Lee explained she\u2019s been focusing on true rest and that spending quiet time alone at home \u2014 worrying, doing nothing \u2014 can also foster strength and creativity.<\/p>\n
At that point, Yoon Do-hyun made a surprise appearance, and the trio reminisced about KBS\u2019s classic late-night music programs like Lee So-ra\u2019s Propose and Yoon Do-hyun\u2019s Love Letter. Lee and Yoon revived the familiar banter that warmed the room, and Sung, as a rookie \u201cgomaek\u201d MC, sought their advice, creating a warm senior\u2011junior dynamic. Lee moved Sung by presenting him with a handwritten letter, and she closed her segment with an emotive performance of \u201cProposal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yoon then returned to the stage as YB\u2019s frontman, unleashing a powerful rendition of \u201cTarzan\u201d that showcased the band\u2019s rock spirit. Marking 31 years since their debut, YB reflected on longevity: \u201cOur members have different shortcomings, so we rely on each other bit by bit,\u201d they said, explaining how mutual dependence has kept the band together. \u201cWe practice a lot. If you want to enjoy the stage and feel free on it, you can\u2019t skip practice,\u201d Yoon added, highlighting the band\u2019s disciplined work ethic.<\/p>\n
As YB\u2019s principal songwriter, Yoon admitted the creative pressure of presenting songs to bandmates: \u201cA song has to pass that internal review to make the album, so I always feel scrutinized.\u201d He framed that tension as part of the process that forges a band. Joking that fans ask them to keep making music \u201cforever\u201d \u2014 and that they\u2019ve already been doing it for a long time \u2014 he nonetheless voiced sincere affection for their audience, saying he wants to continue in part to preserve fans\u2019 memories.<\/p>\n
The evening\u2019s final guest, Kwon Jin-ah, opened with her take on Sung\u2019s \u201cHee-jae.\u201d She recalled touring with Sung early in her career and said hearing \u201cHee-jae\u201d back then made her want to sing it properly onstage someday. Sung beamed, saying he was genuinely happy to hear Kwon\u2019s own interpretation rather than an impression of him.<\/p>\n
Kwon shared a humorous anecdote about her song \u201cSomething\u2019s Wrong,\u201d recounting how she was surprised to hear it used in news coverage about an odd situation. She welcomed any exposure and offered an impromptu live performance that won praise from the audience. Sung lauded her, saying, \u201cThe future of our music scene looks bright \u2014 I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if a superstar emerges.\u201d<\/p>\n
Not ready to end the night, Sung invited Yoon Do-hyun, Kim Jo-han and Jung Seung-hwan back onstage for a collaborative performance of \u201cA Match Made in Heaven,\u201d turning the episode into a celebratory send-off.<\/p>\n
