Yonhap News.&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div><!--PC \uc678\ubd80\uad11\uace0(1)--><\/div>\n<p>With a five-day vehicle rotation for the public sector in effect since the 25th, the government has launched surprise inspections at 12 public institutions nationwide to ensure the policy is being enforced properly.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Energy Agency said they will conduct unannounced inspections at the 12 institutions at 3 p.m. on the 27th to assess how well the passenger-car five-day restriction is being implemented.<\/p>\n<p><!--\uad11\uace0\uc601\uc5ed 241017--><!--\/\/\uad11\uace0\uc601\uc5ed 241017--><\/p>\n<p>The institutions selected for regional checks are \u25b3KOTRA (Seoul) \u25b3K-water (Daejeon\u00b7South Chungcheong) \u25b3Korea District Heating Corporation (Gyeonggi) \u25b3Korea Electric Power Corporation (Gwangju\u00b7South Jeolla) \u25b3Korea Environment Corporation (Incheon) \u25b3National Health Insurance Service (Gangwon) \u25b3Korea Institute of Ocean Science &amp; Technology (Busan\u00b7Ulsan) \u25b3National Pension Service (North Jeolla) \u25b3Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (Sejong\u00b7North Chungcheong) \u25b3Korea Land &amp; Housing Corporation (South Gyeongsang) \u25b3Korea Gas Corporation (Daegu\u00b7North Gyeongsang) \u25b3Government Employees Pension Service (Jeju).<\/p>\n<p>A ministry official said the institutions were evenly selected across regions and that the inspections will verify whether the agencies are following the implementation guidelines and whether any violating vehicles are parked on their premises.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AnyMindavs\"><\/div>\n<p>Public institutions are required to develop institution-specific implementation plans for the five-day vehicle rotation, register those plans in the Korea Energy Agency\u2019s system, and maintain records of employee vehicles, exempt vehicles and the reasons for exemptions. Institutions must also regularly notify staff about the measure and conduct periodic compliance checks.<\/p>\n<p>Park Deok-yeol, Director-General for Hydrogen and Thermal Industry Policy at the ministry, said public institutions must take the lead in efforts to overcome the energy crisis. He added that the ministry will continue monitoring compliance and urged each agency to ensure full implementation.<\/p>\n<p>By Ra-jin Jeong
