Toyota has officially named its first-ever three-row electric SUV the Highlander EV, marking a significant milestone for the brand.<\/p>\n

The exterior design closely resembles the bZ large SUV concept unveiled in 2021, representing a radical departure from the traditional Highlander’s styling.<\/p>\n

This move reflects Toyota’s recent shift away from the artificial naming conventions used for models like the bZ4X. Instead, the automaker is leveraging familiar model names for its electric lineup, with the Highlander EV serving as a flagship example of this new strategy.<\/p>\n

The teaser reveals several key design elements, including the model name prominently displayed on the tailgate and a distinctive double wraparound rear light bar. Some interior details are also visible. Overall, the Highlander EV appears to sport a more athletic, forward-looking design with a coupe-like silhouette, setting it apart from its gas-powered counterpart.<\/p>\n

While Toyota has yet to disclose full powertrain specifications, industry experts anticipate that the Highlander EV will house a larger battery pack than the 74.7 kWh unit found in the bZ4X.
