An old brick house was expanded and remodeled into a modern, chic single-family home that’s turning heads. Located in a Melbourne suburb, the design adapts as the family grows, flexibly accommodating changing routines and needs.

Inside, crisp white walls and warm wood floors create a calm, polished vibe. The home includes a living room, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom, kids’ bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, and an entryway.

Floor-to-ceiling windows facing the outdoor deck flood the main living area with light and fresh air. The living room, dining area and kitchen flow together in an open-plan communal space — a relaxed family hub for lounging, cooking, eating, and everyday life.

A fabric sofa, lounge chair, coffee table, storage bench and shelves are arranged with restraint, then lifted by small accents — decorative objects, framed art and plants — that give the living room a charming, curated feel. It’s a pretty, versatile look you could easily adapt to other rooms.

The face-to-face kitchen showcases a calming white-and-wood palette. A built-in sink and home-bar island are arranged for efficient workflow, creating a beautiful and highly practical natural-modern kitchen.

The dining area flows naturally from the home-bar island to a solid wood table and chairs. Styled like a cozy home café, the space invites relaxed meals and afternoon tea, adding a sense of everyday comfort and satisfaction.
