[BetaNews=Reporter Gwak Jeong-il] Hanssem announced a four-model sofa lineup called the SWIV series, featuring upgraded materials and technologies designed for the “multi-home life” trend that is turning living rooms into multifunctional activity spaces.
The company developed the SWIV series to expand its core offerings with swing sofas that maximize space efficiency and visual openness while allowing users to adjust the seating area. The move builds on Hanssem’s established position in the recliner market.
The SWIV lineup broadens material and specification choices to suit different living environments and tastes. The collection includes four models: the premium SWIV The Master, which uses Italian Pelle Milano natural bull leather; SWIV Leather, made with Pelle Milano natural grain leather; SWIV EcoCrea, constructed from functional performance fabrics; and SWIV Cremo, a fabric model noted for its soft, supple feel.
For the flagship SWIV The Master, Hanssem specified 1.6–1.8 mm bull leather from renowned Italian tannery Pelle Milano to enhance texture. The sofa adopts an all-leather finish—covering the entire piece, including the unseen rear of the backrest—to provide consistent design quality and durability from every angle, whether placed against a wall or positioned facing the room.
A Hanssem spokesperson said, “With the spread of remote work and a rise in personal hobbies, living rooms increasingly function as personal activity spaces in addition to family common areas. To accommodate individual lifestyles, we equipped the series with features such as a personal-fit headrest and a swing function to maximize comfort in any posture.”
Hanssem added that the new models underwent strict quality testing, including 20,000-cycle operation tests and leather abrasion resistance tests, to ensure long-term durability.
