Keep your hands warm this winter~ How to make touchscreen-friendly gloves
December is here and temperatures are dropping, so gloves are essential when you’re outside.
But gloves present a problem: touchscreens often won’t register input, which can be frustrating. With a small modification, however, you can use your smartphone without exposing your fingers.
Here’s a simple way to turn regular gloves into touchscreen-friendly ones.

To make touchscreen-compatible gloves, you’ll need an empty potato chip bag. The bag’s silver lining is conductive and will allow the screen to register touches.

Step 1. Clean the chip bag
First, clean the bag thoroughly. It often contains grease from the chips, so wash and dry it before use.

Step 2. Cut the chip bag
Cut the bag into long, thin strips—this is the key to making it work well.

Step 3. Sew it on with a needle
Thread a strip onto a needle and stitch it onto the glove.
#Caution!!
Only attempt this on gloves that can be sewn—you should avoid altering expensive or irreplaceable pairs.

Turn the glove inside out and stitch the strip in place. Sewing two to three parallel rows helps the conductive material make better contact with your fingertip.

There you go—finished. As shown, this simple modification allows the touchscreen to register touches reliably.

This easy fix lets you use your smartphone in winter without exposing your hands to the cold.
