[Sports Today Lee Sang-pil] The LA Dodgers avenged their loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks from the previous day.

The Dodgers beat Arizona 6-5 on June 3 (Korean time) at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., during the 2026 Major League Baseball season.

The win improved Los Angeles to 39-22, keeping them atop the National League West. Arizona slipped to 32-28 and sat third in the NL West.

Shohei Ohtani finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs, while Freddie Freeman had three hits, two RBIs and a run. Starter Eric Lauer worked 4.2 innings, allowing five hits, striking out one, walking one and yielding two runs. Blake Treinen picked up the victory after tossing 0.1 innings, issuing one walk and allowing no runs.

Arizona starter Michael Soroka took the loss after six innings, giving up six hits, striking out six, walking one and allowing four runs.

The Dodgers struck first in the top of the first when Ohtani doubled. Freeman followed with a two-run homer over the center-field wall to grab the early lead.

Los Angeles added to its momentum in the top of the second. After Dalton Rushing and Alex Freeland collected consecutive hits to put runners on first and second with one out, Ohtani delivered a two-run triple to push the lead to 4-0.

Arizona began its rally in the bottom of the third when Corbin Carroll hit a solo homer. In the bottom of the fifth, Jorge Barrosa and Tommy Troy singled to put runners at the corners with no outs, and Ketel Marte’s sacrifice fly cut the deficit to two.

The Dodgers extended their lead in the top of the seventh. Rushing doubled, Freeland laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Ohtani was intentionally walked to create one out with runners on first and third. Andy Pages followed with a sacrifice fly to add a run, and consecutive hits from Freeman and Mookie Betts produced another, pushing the score to 6-2.

Arizona responded in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on first and second after walks to Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno, Nolan Arenado ripped a two-run double. Later in the inning, a bases-loaded walk to Pavin Smith forced in another run.

The Dodgers closed out the game without surrendering another run and held on for a 6-5 victory.
